Businessman and social commentator Kuda Musasiwa has painted a bleak picture of modern Zimbabwe, saying the country now largely caters to a small group of privileged people while leaving the majority to struggle on the sidelines.

In a post shared on X, Musasiwa said Zimbabwe had become “optimised” for three types of people — wealthy men over 40, attractive young women, and politically connected men with inflated egos and little competence.

He said everyone else had been reduced to mere spectators in their own country.

Musasiwa warned that the rise of anti-intellectualism, greed, and shallow social ambitions was driving the nation towards what he called a “race to the bottom.” Wrote Musasiwa:

“Zimbabwe is now optimised for three types of people: 40+ rich males, hot young women, and the politically connected male with narcissistic personality disorder and a heavy dose of the Dunning–Kruger effect. Everyone else in the grey area is basically a spectator.

“When a society descends into this perpetual “race to the bottom” of anti-intellectualism, feja feja mbingarism, and megalomaniacs with main-character syndrome… it’s doomed.

“What will happen to the majority of jobless young males who will struggle to find a mate or career? Or the talented young females who can’t get a job without being sexually harassed or expected to pander to male elites as a norm?

“How will they find husbands from a pool of demotivated young graduate males, who dance in pampers for an ex-jap, smeared in baby powder?

“What happens to the family unit that builds a society, as our feeds are now filled with Tinashe Mugabe-esque drama and marriage breakdowns?

“We will continue to follow global trends of the societies we most want to mirror.

“Our kids will continue to sink into AI slop and brain rot on the cheaper devices of mass distraction we connect to Starlink for $30 per month. Why?

“Because the parents are in the swamp being distracted too.

“Something will have to give. The solutions are going to be far more painful than we are willing to endure.”
