Rapper Holy Ten is said to be in the middle of a serious personal crisis, with heavy drinking, violent outbursts and failing health prompting his family to push for his urgent admission to a rehabilitation centre.

The 26-year-old, born Mukudzei Chitsama, has in recent weeks shown increasingly erratic behaviour both in public and behind closed doors.

Last Sunday, he stunned fans with an explosive Instagram rant in which he accused President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s twin sons, Sean and Collins, of repossessing gifts, including a house.

He also claimed Sean, an army major, had sent soldiers to his home. The posts were deleted soon after and replaced with an apology.

Associates say Holy Ten has been battling alcoholism, violent tendencies and a sharp decline in his mental health.

Relatives report that he has been verbally and physically abusive at home, at times forcing family members to flee for their safety.

His marriage has also reportedly collapsed, with his wife leaving their Arlington home in Harare out of fear for her safety.

Sources close to the situation say the musician is suffering from dangerously high blood pressure as well as liver and pancreas problems, thought to be linked to excessive drinking.

He was briefly hospitalised at one point but has resisted long-term rehabilitation.

Episodes of talking to himself, violent outbursts and self-destructive behaviour have left family and friends increasingly alarmed.

Those close to him believe only a structured intervention, including medical care for his health problems and compulsory rehabilitation for his drinking and mental health, can help him turn his life around.
