Econet Wireless Zimbabwe has introduced a new range of Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) data packages under the name SmartSuite.
The six packages are designed to cater for a broad spectrum of users, from light individual customers to small and medium-sized enterprises.
At the entry level, the SmartLite plan offers 50GB of data for US$30, while at the top end, the SmartPro package provides 800GB of data for US$170, making it suitable for established SMEs.
Between these two extremes are several other options. The SmartPlus plan offers 75GB for US$40 and is aimed at families, while the SmartMax package provides 100GB for US$50, a plan designed for larger households and freelancers.
The SmartFlex plan offers 200GB for US$70 and is targeted at small offices requiring flexible scaling, whereas the SmartUltra package provides 400GB for US$99, making it suitable for heavy users, multiple users and SMEs.
Announcing the launch of SmartSuite across multiple media platforms, Econet said the packages would be easy to upgrade and would provide flexible options “that grow with your needs.”
To ensure stable and optimised performance within each customer’s premises and coverage area, the data packages will be geo-locked to a customer’s location and accessed through a 4G or 5G customer premises equipment (CPE) router.
The company added that SmartSuite packages would be available in Econet Shops across the country, where the network enjoys the widest coverage.
CPE routers would also be sold in Econet outlets starting at US$48, although customers are free to use their existing CPEs or to purchase devices from other suppliers, provided they are compatible with Econet’s SmartSuite specifications.
The introduction of the new SmartSuite packages follows a notice to customers last month advising that the former SmartBiz plans would soon be replaced with products offering greater flexibility and more tailored options.
Customers already registered with SmartBiz who own a compatible CPE can migrate to the new service by dialling *143#, selecting their preferred package, and topping up their balance.
New subscribers will need to purchase a SmartSuite SIM card from an Econet Shop and have access to a CPE device, either from Econet or another supplier that meets the company’s technical requirements, to connect.
