Castle Lager Premier Soccer League debutants Scottland face the biggest test of their fairy-tale season when they lock horns with troubled Harare giants Dynamos in a must-win Match Day Twenty-Seven clash at Rufaro Stadium on Saturday, 30 August 2025.
Scottland, who have stunned the league with their spirited campaign, need nothing short of victory to keep their title dream alive.
They currently trail log leaders Simba Bhora by a single point, with Simba sitting on 53 points. A slip-up at Rufaro could prove fatal to their championship charge.
For Dynamos, the fixture is just as critical, but for entirely different reasons. The once-mighty Glamour Boys find themselves in the unfamiliar trenches of a relegation battle, stuck in 17th place.
However, after stringing together three consecutive wins, they are only three points away from safety and desperate to claw their way out of danger.
Elsewhere on Saturday, the spotlight will also shine on the “Battle of the Platinum Miners” at Baobab Stadium, where Ngezi Platinum Stars host FC Platinum.
Ngezi remain in the hunt for the title, though they trail Simba Bhora by 10 points. Their rivals, FC Platinum, have endured a torrid spell, losing their last four matches, but remain with 40 points from 25 games.
Other fixtures lined up for Saturday see Bikita Minerals host TelOne at Gibbo Stadium, GreenFuel clash with log leaders Simba Bhora at GreenFuel Arena, while MWOS welcome Chicken Inn to Ngoni Stadium.
On Sunday, all eyes will turn to Barbourfields Stadium, where Highlanders will host Yadah in what promises to be a fiery encounter.
Bosso have reappointed Dutch coach Hendrikus Pieter de Jongh, famously known across Africa as “The Dutch Nomad”.
His return comes at a critical time, with Highlanders languishing in ninth place and hovering just four points above the relegation zone.
Yadah, meanwhile, arrive amid off-field controversy after a club official allegedly assaulted their goalkeeper following last week’s 3-2 defeat to Ngezi Platinum Stars. The case was reported to the PSL by the Footballers Union of Zimbabwe.
In other Sunday fixtures, CAPS United, currently 10th with 31 points, take on ZPC Kariba at Rufaro.
Triangle will face Herentals College at Gibbo, while basement side Kwekwe United, seemingly doomed to relegation after just one season in the topflight, will host Manica Diamonds at Ascot Stadium.
