Scottland Football Club made headlines on Monday with the high-profile double signing of former Zimbabwe national team captain Knowledge Musona and Highlanders’ electrifying winger Mafios Chihweta, as the Harare-based side strengthens its push for the Premier Soccer League title.
The club unveiled 35-year-old Musona during halftime of their 1–0 win over Yadah at Rufaro Stadium. The veteran forward, who arrives as a free agent after parting ways with Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Okhdood at the end of the 2024–25 season, is expected to see out the remainder of his playing career at Scottland.
Musona’s arrival sets the stage for a compelling family reunion, as he joins forces with his younger brother Walter Musona, who currently captains the title-chasing side.
Remarkably, this marks the first time the Musona brothers will feature together in the same domestic league.
The club also confirmed the capture of Highlanders’ dazzling wide man Mafios Chihweta, whose pace and flair have made him a fan favourite in the local game.
While the details of his transfer fee and contract duration remain under wraps, reports suggest Scottland paid US$50,000 to secure the winger’s signature.
Currently sitting second in the league standings with 11 matches left, Scottland are firmly in the hunt for the title.
