Zimbabwe Weather Report And Forecast Valid From 28-30 November, 2023
The Zimbabwe Meteorological Services Department (MSD), in collaboration with the Civil Protection Department, has released the evening weather report and forecast for Zimbabwe, valid from Tuesday, November 28, 2023, until Thursday, November 30, 2023.
The morning of this Tuesday was characterised by mostly sunny and mild conditions. However, as the day progressed, it became partly cloudy to cloudy in most parts of the country. Some light thundershowers were experienced in specific provinces, including Matabeleland North, Mashonaland West, and Manicaland.
Moving on to the forecast for Wednesday, November 29, 2023, it is expected to begin with partly cloudy and mild conditions in the morning across most parts of the country. However, as the day progresses, cloud developments are anticipated, leading to scattered thunderstorms in the afternoon. These thunderstorms are a result of cloud systems approaching from the northwest.
During this period, the risk of lightning strikes is significantly increased, posing a potential danger to all areas. It is important to note that lightning can strike even when clouds appear distant, a scientific phenomenon known as lightning from the blue. The atmosphere is also conducive to localized hailstorms and strong winds.
To ensure personal safety, there are several actions that individuals should take. If caught outdoors during a thunderstorm, it is advised to avoid seeking shelter under isolated trees or in isolated sheds, as these can act as natural lightning conductors. For the main city centres such as Bulawayo, Kwekwe, Kadoma, Masvingo, Marondera, and Gwanda, the weather forecast remains consistent with the general pattern of partly cloudy and mild conditions in the morning, followed by scattered thunderstorms in the afternoon.
