Chombo Fraud Charges Withdrawn

Former Cabinet Minister Ignatius Chombo, who was being charged with fraud, is now a free man after the State withdrew the charges against him on Wednesday, 01 March 2023.

Chombo was accused of misappropriating a $14 billion Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe Capital Expenditure loan which was meant to purchase farm equipment, reported The Herald.

The charges were withdrawn before plea when he appeared before Harare Regional Magistrate Stanford Mambanje.

The former Finance Minister was being accused of having misappropriated the loan he acquired under the RBZ Other Crops and Livestock extended to him between October 2005 and January 2006.

  1. Another Zanu pf corrupt looter freed. Zimbabwe 🇿🇼 is open for corruption boys dzangu. No rule of law.

  2. Corruption the highly perfected art of destruction effected on Zimbabwe by ZanuPF….. monies disappear but CRIMINALS are set FREE..

  3. I was expecting this, after he started praising the Gukurahundi party, and telling CCC Chamisa to forget it!

  4. Also watch out for Jonathan Moyo’s imminent return, and charges withdrawn. Now that he has refocused his rough tongue on Chamisa, away from Mungwangwa, since Mungwangwa’s state visit to Kenya during President Uhurus tenure.
