FORECAST FOR TOMORROW, SUNDAY 18 DECEMBER 2022

Thunderstorms are expected country-wide with scattered heavy downpours in areas along and to the south of the central watershed. Strong winds and hailstorms remain highly probable with these thunderstorms. Temperatures should remain in a warm category during the day and winds are expected to be northerly which should continue to advect more moisture into the country from Zambia.

IMPACTS

Localised downpours are probable in places. Lightning is a major threat during this part of the year, being inherent in thundershowers. Strong winds may blow off roofs and damage property.

ACTIONS TO TAKE

• Avoid crossing flooded rivers or swollen streams where water is above your ankles, just a 30 cm depth of flowing water can sweep away large vehicles. Wait for the water to recede before attempting to cross.
