Zimbabwe Weather Report And Forecast: 04 - 06 November 2022

The Meteorological Services Department of Zimbabwe has said some parts of the country will record thundershowers and localized heavy rains in the coming days. In a weather report and forecast seen by Pindula News, MSD said another cloud band moving eastwards into the country from Botswana. Reads a report and forecast for the period 04 to 06 November 2022:

PREAMBLE

ZIMBABWE EVENING WEATHER REPORT AND FORECAST ISSUED AT 1600 HRS ON FRIDAY 04 NOVEMBER 2022 VALID UNTIL SUNDAY 06 NOVEMBER 2022.

Yesterday, there were thundershowers across much of the country with the highest fall being over high ground in areas such as Nyanga (55mm), Kadoma (53mm), Macheke (36mm), Wedza (30mm), Mutare-Odzi (29mm), Chinhoyi (28mm), Chivhu (22mm), Kadoma-Railways (21 mm) and Cweru (20mm). By this afternoon there were thundershowers across the country. Meanwhile, another cloud band moving eastwards into the country from Botswana.

FORECAST FOR TOMORROW, SATURDAY 05 NOVEMBER 2022

Morning light showers are anticipated in the western parts of the country such as Matabeleland Provinces, and Bulawayo Metropolitan. As the day progresses cloudy and warm afternoon conditions are expected in all of the other parts of the country, coupled with thundershowers and localized heavy rains, especially over the Eastern Highlands and parts of the main watershed.

• Lightning strikes are a major risk during this period, all areas have a potential risk for lightning strikes

• The atmosphere is conducive to localized hailstorms and strong winds.

ACTIONS TO TAKE

• If caught in the open, please avoid sheltering under isolated trees or in isolated sheds as these tend to be natural lightning conductors.

• When a thunderstorm threatens, get inside a home or large building. please secure rooftops and any loose objects that might be blown away by the wind.

• in case of hailstorms, please he indoors during thunderstorms.

• Where possible, install lightning conductors on buildings.

WEATHER OUTLOOK FOR SUNDAY 06 NOVEMBER 2022

Generally, light showers are expected throughout the whole country with localized heavy rainfall alone in the main watershed and the eastern highlands. It should warm by the afternoon though mild both morning and evening.
