The weather report and forecast issued by the Meteorological Services Department in conjunction with the Department of Civil Protection at 4 PM on Tuesday 01 November 2022 valid until Thursday 03 November 2022:
The cloud band which traversed the country from the west resulted in widespread thunderstorms and rain. The significant rainfall figures (in excess of 20mm) measured this morning were 39mm (Norton), 27mm (Goetz Bulawayo) and 26mm (Beitbridge). However, most areas south of the main watershed had drizzle this morning.
FORECAST FOR TOMORROW, WEDNESDAY 02 NOVEMBER 2022
Matabeleland South, south of Midlands, Masvingo and south of Manicaland should experience cloudy and cool conditions with patchy morning drizzle. All other areas are anticipated to be cloudy with isolated showers which could be thundery in places. It should be cool in the morning, becoming mild in the afternoon.

- Lightning strikes are a major risk during this period
- Hot and humid daytime conditions may affect the body’s health, with dehydration and sunburn being common during this period.
- FIRE SEASON: Dry and hot conditions exacerbate the spread of veldt fires
ACTIONS TO TAKE
- When thunder roars it is best to be indoors
- Keep hydrated and avoid prolonged periods in direct sunlight especially between the hours of 10:00 am and 3:00 pm when the sun is at peak intensity.
- Dress appropriately to keep cool during the day, and ensure vulnerable members of society are not overdressed. Wear a sunhat if you need to be engaged in outdoor activities.
- The public is urged to avoid starting outdoor fires and safeguard against their spread by constructing fireguards that are maintained free from combustible matter and are at least 9 (nine) meters wide.

Cloudy and mild conditions with isolated thundershowers are expected over the country. Heavier falls remain probable in areas along the main watershed. It should be warm by the afternoon though mild in the morning.
