Zimbabwe Weather Report And Forecast: 31 October - 02 November 2022

The Meteorological Services Department of Zimbabwe has said localised heavier rains remain probable in the next few days. In a weather report and forecast seen by Pindula News, MSD said another cloud band is approaching the country from the west. Reads a report and forecast for the period 31 October to 02 November 2022:

ZIMBABWE EVENING WEATHER REPORT AND FORECAST ISSUED AT 1600 HRS ON MONDAY 31 OCTOBER 2022 VALID UNTIL WEDNESDAY 02 NOVEMBER 2022.

PREAMBLE

A cloud band started drifting through Zimbabwe’s western border from mid-morning giving rise to hot and humid afternoon conditions with isolated thundershowers which occurred over Tsholotsho (5.6mm), Plumtree, Binga and Kadoma. All other areas were cloudy and warm by the afternoon.

FORECAST FOR TOMORROW, TUESDAY 01 NOVEMBER 2022

Cloudy and warm conditions are expected across the whole country with scattered afternoon and evening thunderstorms. However, localized heavy downpours (in excess of 50mm) remain a possibility over the areas along and south of the main watershed from the morning until the afternoon. It should be windy.

• Lightning strikes are a major risk during this period

• Hot and humid daytime conditions may affect the body’s health, with dehydration and sunburn being common during this period.

ACTIONS TO TAKE

• When thunder roars it is best to be indoors

• Keep hydrated and avoid prolonged periods in direct sunlight especially between the hours of 10:00 am and 3:00 pm when the sun is at peak intensity.

• Dress appropriately to keep cool during the day, and ensure vulnerable members of society are not overdressed. Wear a sunhat if you need to be engaged in outdoor activities.

• The public is urged to avoid starting outdoor fires and safeguard against their spread by constructing fireguards that are maintained free from combustible matter and are at least 9 (nine) meters wide.

WEATHER OUTLOOK FOR WEDNESDAY 02 NOVEMBER 2022

Cloudy and mild conditions are expected over the country. Isolated thundershowers are anticipated in areas along the main watershed and Matabeleland North. It should be warm by the afternoon though mild in the morning.
