Meanwhile, ZIFA is still suspended from international football by FIFA following the November 2021 suspension of the elected ZIFA board that was led by Felton Kamambo by the Sports and Recreation Commission (SRC).

Recently, members of Parliament gave Sports Minister, Kirtsy Coventry, a 31 October 2022 ultimatum to ensure that the SRC reinstates the Kamambo-led ZIFA board.
