English Premier League Honours Peter Ndlovu

The English Premier League (EPL) has recognised former Warriors captain Peter Ndlovu’s contribution to the English top flight.

Ndlovu, who is the current Mamelodi Sundowns team manager, became the first African to feature and score in the rebranded First Division when he played at Coventry City in 1992.

Ndlovu netted for Coventry City, on September 2, 1992, when his side won 2-1 against Sheffield.

As part of the EPL’s celebration for Black History Month, Ndlovu has been honoured for this achievement. The EPL said:

Peter Ndlovu will forever have the honour of being the Premier League’s first African player and goal scorer, as part of an exciting Coventry City FC side.

We’re celebrating iconic players from around the world who’ve starred in the PL as part of Black History Month.
