The Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (ZERA) has invited suitable candidates to fill Internal Auditor and Electrical Inspector posts in the organisation. INTERNAL AUDITOR – HEAD OFFICE

Reporting to the HEAD INTERNAL AUDIT, the Key Job Functions of this position will be:

• Creating audit engagement plans in line with the scheduling done by the supervisor.

• Reviewing operational and business risks, functions and activities. and evaluating client relations in order to determine and recommend nature, scope, direction and thrust of proposed audit engagements:

• Performing and controlling the full audit cycle including risk management and control effectiveness. financial reliability and compliance with all applicable directives and regulations;

• Conducting follow-up audits to monitors management’s interventions;

• Engaging in continuous knowledge development regarding sector’s rules, regulations, best practices. tools. techniques and performance standards:

• Identifying opportunities to utilise computer-assisted audit techniques;

• Ensuring that audit results (Le; report( clearly communicates the identified business risks/exposures and their identified root cause(s):

• Performing work in adherence to the internal audit charter, job description and internal auditing standards

Key Job Requirements:

The successful candidate for this position should meet the following criteria:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting & Auditing/Business;

• Certified Internal Auditor ILIA) qualification is a must;

• Certified Information Systems Auditor is an advantage;

• At least 5 years experience in auditing, proven experience in performing internal audits is a must;

• Proven knowledge of auditing standards and procedures, laws, rules and regulations;

• PC skills, Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with Microsoft Project. Vision flowcharting;

• Experience in using ACL data analysis software and TeamMate;

• Experience with an audit from and knowledge of IT auditing is an advantage

FIXED TERM CONTRACT ELECTRICAL INSPECTOR – MUTARE REGIONAL OFFICE

Reporting to the Senior Electricity Engineer, the Key Job Functions of this position will

• Monitoring of the electricity, energy efficiency and renewable energy sectors for compliance to set regulations. codes and standards through inspections.

• Conduct electrical accident investigations and prosecution in terms of legislation.

• Assist in conducting infrastructure and energy audits.

• Assist in accurate compilation and analysis of electricity industry statistics.

• Assist in the development of sector awareness material.

• Provide support at shows, exhibition and stakeholder consultation workshops.

• Provide accurate input for departmental and other reports.

Key Job Requirements:

The successful candidate for this position should meet the following criteria:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

• Four years minimum working experience in the electricity generation, transmission or distribution sectors.

• Good appreciation of the electricity sector, renewable energy and energy efficiency products and services.

• Good working knowledge of sector legislation.

• Good public relations skills.

• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

• Driver’s license is a must.
