‘Teachers For ED’ Union Formed

The government has approved the establishment of a new teachers’ union with the moniker “Teachers for ED (Economic Development)”.

According to a circular dated 22 June, 2022 written by the secretary of Primary and Secondary Education Tumisang Thabela to all provincial education directors, the structures for the union are already in place in the country’s 10 provinces. It read:

It is noted that Teachers for Economic Development has completed setting up structures in the 10 provinces of the country and requested authority to launch the provincial chapters and the national chapter.

In view of the above, authority is hereby granted to conduct the provincial and national launches of the Teachers for Economic Development.

Kindly liaise with provincial education directors in the respective provinces on suitable dates and venues.

Other teachers’ unions have condemned the move saying it is a strategy to frustrate their fight for better working conditions.

Civil servants, including teachers, are demanding the restoration of their pre-October 2018 salaries of US$540.

  1. Teachers for EDiot ummmm Zimbabwe 🇿🇼 is a Hell on earth for sure. So these new Teaching EDiots will be paid in Gold Coins or they are green bombers in schools. Structures are already in place meaning kuti its filled with CIO and zanu pf operatives.

  2. Desperate regime manufacturing ‘unions’ just like they manufacture political parties to give some semblance of normality. This is redundant propaganda that used to work long time ago and the ‘genius’ moron who came up with this will only convince like minded morons. Surely these charlatans have overstayed their welcome and we have let them and have ourselves to blame for that
