Catapult-armed Robbers Attacks Shop Owner, Steal US$1.2K Cash, Cellphones
The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) is investigating a robbery case that happened in Gokwe in which six unidentified robbers, armed with a catapult, attacked a local shop owner before stealing US$1 200 cash, cellphones and other valuables.
Said police in a report on the case:
Police in Gokwe are investigating a robbery case which occurred on 31/05/22 at a shop at Manhende Business Centre. Six unknown suspects attacked a shop owner (30) with a catapult before stealing US$1200 cash, various groceries, clothes, blankets and six cellphones.
FeedbackZRP is appealing to members of the public who may have information on the case to contact any nearest Police Station.
This case adds to many more cases that have been recorded in the recent past.

The spike in armed robbery cases has unsettled the Parliament which had to summon security chiefs to explain the trend amid reports that some of the assailants are retired or serving members of the uniformed forces.
Addressing mourners at the burial of Retired Major General Godfrey Chanakira at the National Heroes Acre on Thursday, President Emmerson Mnangagwa also expressed concern over the rise of robbery cases across the country.
