Armed Robber Musa Taj Abdul Jailed For 5 Years For Illegal Possession Of Firearms

Armed robber, Musa Taj Abdul who has been on Zimbabwe’s most wanted armed robbers’ list has been sentenced to five years in prison after being convicted for unlawful possession of firearms.

A Harare magistrate this Monday sentenced Abdul and his accomplice Charles Lundu to 5 years in prison and suspended 1 year on the condition of good behaviour.

The gang is also facing armed robbery charges which are still pending.

The two were also sentenced to five years for unlawful possession of ammunition. They will, however, serve four years effective after the magistrate ruled that the sentences will run concurrently.

Abdul and his accomplices reportedly committed a series of robberies in Zimbabwe, South Africa and Botswana and they were arrested in December 2020 in Beitbridge after years of evading arrest.
