Energy and Power Development minister Zhemu Soda has urged motorists to make use of ZUPCO buses following public outrage after the Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (ZERA) Wednesday hiked fuel prices for a second time in one week.
ZERA hiked diesel prices to US$1.68 or ZWL218.01 per litre up from ZWL$195.99 and US$1.51 per litre.
The regulator attributed the development to increasing oil prices on the international market due to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Watch the video below for Soda’s remarks:
Our ministers always comes from hell.Last time we had someone who said people must buy bicycles and today there’s someone who is telling people to use ZUPCO buses.Telling the already suffering people to suffer more.
