A Manica Post employee, Sebastian Mukumba, died in a road accident just outside Mutare on Sunday night.
The fatal accident occurred near Rowa Business Centre along the Mutare-Chimanimani highway.
According to Manicaland acting provincial police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka, Mukumba’s vehicle was involved in a head-on collision with another motorist, Victor Chikumo, of Masvingo.
Chukumo lost control of his vehicle due to speeding and encroached onto the opposite lane resulting in the crash. Said Assistant Inspector Chinyoka:
Chikumo was driving from Mutare and speeding. He lost control of his vehicle and encroached onto the opposite lane before colliding with Mukumba’s vehicle near Rowa.
Mukumba died on the spot while Chikumo and the passenger in his vehicle were injured and ferried to Victoria Chitepo Provincial Hospital.
Where I live, there is such bad and dangerous driving, but the cops are nowhere to be seen. Just empty beer bottles and Chibuku containers all over the sides of the roads.
