Zimbabwe Weather Report & Forecast: 03 – 05 November 2021

ZIMBABWE EVENING WEATHER REPORT AND FORECAST ISSUED AT 1600 HRS ON WEDNESDAY 03 NOVEMBER VALID UNTIL FRIDAY 05 NOVEMBER 2021.

The moisture over the country resulted in numerous thunderstorms with the following notable falls: 34mm (Chivhu), 16mm (Kwekwe), 11mm (Wedza) and 9mm (Nkayi). Hot daytime conditions prevailed across the country yesterday especially along the Zambezi and Limpopo Valleys where temperatures were above 40°C. The highest was 45°C (Beitbridge). This morning, brief cloudy periods were reported in Matabeleland South, southern areas of Midlands, Masvingo and extreme south of Manicaland.

FORECAST FOR TOMORROW THURSDAY 04 NOVEMBER 2021. COUNTRYWIDE: 

It should be partly cloudy with scattered afternoon thunderstorms. Localized heavy downpours are probable in places. Mild conditions are expected in the morning, becoming hot by afternoon.

• Lightning is a major risk during this period 

• Strong winds (inherent in most thunderstorms) may be destructive in places 

• Hot daytime conditions may lead to dehydration

• Mosquitoes proliferate during this season.
• Stay indoors during thunderstorms. If outdoors do not shelter under isolated trees or shed. 

• If no shelter is available try to couch as low as possible with only your toes touching the ground.

ACTIONS TO TAKE

• Keep hydrated during the day by drinking adequate amounts of water. 

• Avoid staying in the sun between 11.00 and 15.00 hours when it is hottest. 

• Wear a sunhat when engaged in outdoor activities if possible. 

• Persons in 111alaria prone areas should take necessary precautions (insecticides spraying, applying mosquito repellents, sleeping under mosquito nets). 

• When thunder roars, go indoors. 

• COVID is still a potential threat, stay safe, mask-up, get vaccinated.
