ZIMBABWE EVENING WEATHER REPORT AND FORECAST ISSUED AT 1600 HRS ON SATURDAY 30 OCTOBER VALID UNTIL MONDAY 01 NOVEMBER 2021.

It was cool to mild in the morning and got warm to hot as the day progressed. Meanwhile, a cloud band coming from the west resulted in scattered thunderstorms activities in some areas in all Matabeleland, Bulawayo ‘Metropolitan and Midlands provinces.

FORECAST FOR TOMORROW SUNDAY 31 OCTOBER 2021.

It should start off mostly sunny in all areas across the country with clouds expected to develop from mid-morning with a chance of scattered thunderstorms in all provinces with the exception of Masvingo and extreme southern parts of Manicaland provinces. It will be mild in the morning, becoming hot by the afternoon.

• Lightning is a major risk during this period

• Strong winds may be destructive in places

• High afternoon temperatures may lead to exhaustion.

ACTIONS TO TAKE

• Stay indoors during thunderstorms.

• If outdoors do not shelter under isolated trees or shed.

• If no shelter is available try to couch as low as possible with only your toes touching the ground.

• Keep hydrated during the day by drinking adequate amounts of water.

• Avoid staying in the sun between 11.00 and 15.00 hours when it is hottest.

• Wear sunscreen when engaged in outdoor activities if possible.

• Persons in Malaria prone areas should take necessary precautions (insecticide spraying, applying mosquito repellents, sleeping under mosquito nets).

• When thunder roars, go indoors.

• COVID is still a potential threat, stay safe, mask up, get vaccinated.
