Kenyan Man Walks 350km To Meet President Kenyatta Over Stalled Stadium Project

A Kenya former chief has walked 350km (217 miles) to Kenya’s capital Nairobi, to appeal to President Uhuru Kenyatta to finish building work on a stadium in his home region that stalled years ago.

According to BBC Africa, Joseph Chebii began his walk on 26 August at his home in Baringo county, in western Kenya.

The Standard newspaper quotes the 61-year-old as saying he wore out two pairs of shoes during his journey.

He’s also quoted as saying police officers stationed in roadblocks along the highway offered him lunches and encouragement.

Mr Chebii braved sunny weather in Baringo and Nakuru counties to cold weather in Limuru and Nairobi.
