PICTURES: Rehabilitation Of Seke Road Commences

The government has commenced rehabilitating the Seke Road which links the dormitory town of Chitungwiza with Harare. Early this year, Cabinet resolved that all roads in the country be declared a state of disaster. Information Minister, Senator Monica Mutsvangwa, told reporters that the government was working on facilitating the release of the resources for the rehabilitation of all roads. Some parts of the country have been inaccessible following continuous rains in recent years.

The Zimbabwe National Roads Administration (ZINARA) is the government parastatal mandated with fixing ‘national’ roads and collecting road user fees.

After collection, ZINARA then disburses the funds to road authorities namely the Department of Roads in the Ministry of Transport and Communication, the District Development Fund, and urban and rural councils.
