UK MP Wants Tino Machakaire Investigated Over Rolls Royce

A United Kingdom (UK) MP, Lord Oates, wants Deputy Minister of Youth, Sport and Recreation, Tino Machakaire, investigated to establish the source of funds for the Rolls Royce Phantom he allegedly bought.

Oates who is the Liberal Democrats Lords Spokesperson on the Climate Emergency & Energy Co-Chair All-Party Parliamentary Group for Zimbabwe suggests Machakaire raised the funds through corrupt activities.

His remarks come when the acquisition of a Rolls Royce Phantom from Britain for a total of US$770 000 has set social media buzzing with Zanu PF sympathisers defending Machakaire saying he declared his assets, therefore, it’s known that he can afford his lifestyle.

However, Monday, Lord Oates said he wants to table in United Kingdom Parliament on Tuesday on the source of funds in the alleged purchase of a Rolls-Royce Phantom. He said:

To ask Her Majesty’s Government what’s obligations UK companies are under to conduct the due diligence on the source of funds when selling luxury vehicles to politically exposed person in Zimbabwe and other countries where widespread corruption is evident.
