Warriors Leave For COSAFA Tournament – Final Squad

The 20-man Warriors squad left the country on Monday for the COSAFA Cup tournament to be held in South Africa from 7 to 18 July.

There were some late changes to the squad, with Perfect Chikwende, Evans Rusike and Godknows Murwira missing out on medical grounds. Nelson Chadya was dropped while Delic Murimba was a late addition upfront.

Zimbabwe is in Group C alongside Mozambique, Namibia and guests Senegal.

The Warriors play Mozambique on 8 July (12 pm) in their first group game. Then they take on and Namibia on 11 July (2 pm), and round off their Group C fixtures against Senegal on 14 July (3 pm).

The Warriors COSAFA Cup final squad is as follows:

Goalkeepers: Washington Arubi, Martin Mapisa

Defenders: MacClive Phiri, Carlos Mavhurume, Andrew Mbemba, Lennox Mucheto, Qadr Amini, Malvin Mkolo, Jimmy Dzingai, Patrick Ben Musaka

Midfielders: Blessing Sarupinda, Tatenda Tavengwa, Shadreck Nyahwa, Brian Banda, King Nadolo, Nyasha Dube, Ovidy Karuru, Richard Hachiro

Strikers: Farai Matare, Delic Murimba
