Masvingo Polytechnic principal Callisto Muzongondi confirmed the matter to Masvingo Mirror, saying the Ministry of Health and Childcare has dispatched a team of nurses to screen students and other staffers for the infectious virus. He said:

The Ministry of Health has sent in a team that is screening students and other staffers for the lethal virus.
Other higher learning institutions in Masvingo Province like Bondolfi and Morgenster Teachers’ colleges have also recorded COVID-19 cases.
This comes as the ruling ZANU PF party has continued to defy lockdown regulations by holding rallies throughout the country, reported Masvingo Mirror.
In Gutu North alone more than 10 rallies were held in the last week even though churches, restaurants, weddings, funerals and other gatherings are all banned.
