Zimbabwe Weather Report & Forecast: 24-26 June 2021

ZIMBABWE EVENING WEATHER REPORT AND FORECAST ISSUED AT 1600 HRS ON THURSDAY 24 JUNE 2021 VALID UNTIL SATURDAY 26 JUNE 2021.

PREAMBLE

The cloud system which was affecting the western parts of the country drifted very fast eastwards to cover Harare metropolitan, Midlands, northern parts of Manicaland all Mashonaland provinces though clear skies occurred to the remainder of the country, resulting in cold morning conditions with slight ground frost at Masvingo.

FORECAST

FORECAST FOR TOMORROW FRIDAY 25 JUNE 2021: Clear skies are expected in most areas although parts of Harare Metropolitan and Mashonaland East provinces should experience brief cloud periods.

It will be cold in the morning with a slight ground frost in frost-prone areas (Chivhu, Gweru, Henderson, Marondera, Matopos, Mukandi and Nyanga), becoming much warmer than of late by the afternoon.

IMPACTS

  • Cold conditions may affect the health of all persons, however, persons of an ill disposition, the elderly and young children tend to be more vulnerable.
  • Low temperatures, especially in the early hours of the morning, negatively impact poultry and some crops.

ACTIONS TO TAKE

  • Keep warm by wearing appropriate winter attire, where possible stay indoors.
  • Ensure that vulnerable members of society are kept warm, especially overnight.
  • Avoid brazier or open fire to keep warm, in an unventilated room to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning
  • Closely monitor the temperatures within fowl-runs and adjust accordingly.
  • COVID is still a potential threat, stay safe, mask up, get vaccinated.
  • If one is dependent on solar, ensure the load is minimised when charging is not optimal.

OUTLOOK

WEATHER FORECAST FOR SATURDAY 26 JUNE 2021

Mostly clear skies are expected to dominate the airflow over the country with cold morning conditions.

It should be warm by the afternoon and cold again towards the evening. Slight to moderate ground frost is probable in frost-prone areas such as Gweru, Henderson, Matopos, Mukandi, Chivhu and Wedza.
