Lionel Messi scored a freekick against Chile in a Copa America match to surpass Cristiano Ronaldo and became the player with the most free-kick goals.
Messi has played almost 145 fewer matches than Ronaldo but now has 57 free-kick goals, one over Cristiano who has 56.
This increases the competition and debate over who is the greatest of all time (GOAT) between Messi and Ronaldo.
Inevitably, Cristiano Ronaldo will be seeking to equal terms or restore his hegemony when the Portugal team plays Hungary tonight in a Euro match.
