ZIMBABWE EVENING WEATHER REPORT AND FORECAST ISSUED AT 1600 HRS ON TUESDAY 08 JUNE 2021 VALID UNTIL THURSDAY 10 JUNE 2021.

PREAMBLE

It was mostly cloudy this morning over Harare Metropolitan, Mashonaland East, Manicaland, into the eastern parts of Midlands and Masvingo Provinces with light drizzle in areas such as West Nicholson, Zvishavane, Masvingo, Marondera, Mukandi and Nyanga.

Only Belvedere reported slight ground frost while the rest of the country experienced scattered clouds and cool morning conditions.

Clear skies are expected in most areas although parts of Masvingo, Manicaland, Harare Metropolitan and Mashonaland East should experience brief cloudy periods.

It will be cold in the morning with a slight ground frost in frost-prone areas (Chivhu, Gweru, Henderson, Marondera and Matopos), becoming much warmer than of late by the afternoon.

  • Cold conditions may affect the health of all persons, however persons of an ill disposition, the elderly, young children tend to be more vulnerable.
  • Respiratory-related ailments such as asthma, hay fever, colds and flu tend to be common during winter.
  • Cold weather conditions negatively impact poultry and some crops.

  • Keep warm, especially towards evening and early morning, where possible stay at home.
  • Ensure that vulnerable members of society are kept warm.

Sunny and mild conditions will dominate much of the country, though cold in the morning.

Areas susceptible to ground frost will experience slight to moderate ground frost (Chivhu, Gweru, Henderson, Marondera, Matopos, Mukandi and Nyanga).
