Scammers Target DStv Subscribers With Fake Gift Card Offer

DStv viewers have been warned about a fake gift card offer being circulated by e-mail and which purports to come from MultiChoice.

MultiChoice Zimbabwe publicity and public relations manager Liz Dziva said the dangerous e-mail was being sent using an outlook.com address and invited DStv subscribers to download apps and give private information. Said Dziva:

We strongly urge avoidance of this illegal offer and remind subscribers that genuine offers from MultiChoice come from recognised sources and can be verified through our national telecall centre and customer care centres.

We do not know the purpose of this scam but it could well be aimed at invading privacy or extorting money and is to be ignored and deleted.
