Mnangagwa Morally Bankrupt, No Good In Him - Ngarivhume

Transform Zimbabwe (TZ) leader Jacob Ngarivhume says when President Emmerson Mnangagwa took office in 2017 following a military coup, Zimbabweans were willing to overlook everything that he had done and give him a second chance.

Ngarivhume claims Mnangagwa’s failure to embrace change and usher in a people-centred government proves that “a leopard never changes its spots”. Ngarivhume said on Twitter:

When @edmnangagwa was imposed on Zimbabwe by the army, Zimbabweans were willing to overlook everything this man has ever done- from Gukurahundi to diamond smuggling in war-torn DRC. But he has proven that a leopard never changes its spots.

The former MDC Alliance principal said Mnangagwa is morally bankrupt as shown by the incarceration of Joana Mamombe and Cecilia Chimbira, two young opposition activists, for two months over minor alleged offences. Added Ngarivhume:

He is morally bankrupt- there is no good in him. For 60 days he has locked away @JoanaMamombe and @ceechimbiri2. Taking someone’s freedom away is an action only reserved for serious offences.

Now he is systematically dismantling the constitution. Good leaders don’t do this. They strengthen the constitution to protect the people from evil.

To top this off his government has purchased an $18mil USD helicopter during a pandemic and an education crisis. There is no place for this sort of callous insensitivity in government. It’s time for us to have a serious conversation as citizens.
