Zimbabwe's Medicines Regulator Creates Covid-19 Vaccine Side Effects Sharing Platform

The Medicines Control Authority of Zimbabwe (MCAZ) has created a platform where citizens can share side effects they may have experienced after getting the Covid-19 vaccine.

Zimbabwean will be vaccinated with either the Sinovac, Covaxin or Sinopharm vaccines. Whilst there has been no official reported cases of side effects from the Covid-19 vaccine, Zimbabwe Association of Doctors for Human Rights secretary Norman Matara warned the public that the second Sinopham jab might trigger severe side effects. Matara however allied any fears and said the side effects will resolve on their own and said:

The side effects are self-limiting and resolve on their own usually within a few days. There is no danger to life anticipated. We advise the public to participate in the national vaccination programme as vaccination of individuals has been proved to be an effective way of eradicating pandemics.

These vaccines go through various stages of clinical trials before approval and are safe and effective. We need to get vaccinated in order for us to return to normalcy.
