Bona And Simba Bought 20 Hectares Of Prime Land In Borrowdale For $2 300 - Report
Former President Robert Mugabe’s daughter Bona Mugabe Chikore Mutsahuni and her husband Simba Chikore Mutsahuni reportedly bought 20 hectares of land for $2 300 in Harare’s Hellenvale suburb which falls under Borrowdale, The Herald reports.
The deal which prejudiced the City of Harare of millions of dollars was reportedly facilitated by then Local Government Minister Ignatius Chombo. Had the couple not paid a measly $2 300, they were supposed to have parted with anything between US$4,5 million to US$7,2 million to secure the plot.
The matter came to light during a land audit report compiled by Harare City Council’s special investigations committee chaired by Councillor Warship Dumba which reads in part:
The land was sold to Minister Chombo without following town planning procedures whereby change of land use was approved on March 28, 2008, after he had already bought the stand on March 25, 2008
Investigations carried out by the Herald, revealed that the property is owned by Chordac Investments and the company’s other 2 directors besides Mr Mhandu and Ms Jaiwa are, Mrs Bona and Mr Simbarashe Mutsahuni (also known as Chikore) and Chombo never owned the land in question.

Mhandu was the then Deputy Minister of Local Government, Rural and Urban Development. The land was/is going to be used for recreational purposes. When contacted for comment Mr Chikoore Mutsahuni said he doesn’t comment on such issues.
This is coming a few days after it emerged the Bona and Simba are struggling to complete their 25 roomed mansion in Umwisdale following the death of former President Robert Mugabe who was reportedly the project’s financier.
