Chipolopolo Seek To Restore Pride & Honour In Warriors Clash

Zambian senior men’s national football team coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic says pride and honour are at stake this Monday when Chipolopolo take on The Warriors in Harare.

Zambia face Zimbabwe this evening in their final Group H qualifier at the giant National Sports Stadium.

Chipolopolo are out and in the last place after their 3-3 at home with Algeria at Heroes Stadium in Lusaka on 25 March ended their qualifying race.

Group H leaders Algeria have qualified together with second-placed Zimbabwe on 11 and 8 points respectively. Said Micho:

We need to find a solution in front of us. We have a match against Zimbabwe on Monday and it is a question of pride of the nation.

The players have given everything that was asked from them unfortunately the best was not enough to give us that much-needed victory (against Algeria).

Micho has defenders Tandi Mwape of DR Congo giants TP Mazembe and Power Dynamos’ Zachariah Chilongoshi in contention after they missed the Algeria match due to suspension.

However, Stellenbosch FC midfielder Nathan Sinkala has been released from camp after a dismal display against Algeria last Thursday night that saw him substituted in the 30th minute.
