Calls For Unity Should Not Unsettle You - Chamisa On Arrest Threats

The youthful MDC Alliance leader Nelson Chamisa has said the ruling party should not be unsettled by his calls for unity because according to him, nations are built on pillars of unity.

Chamisa was responding to threats that were made by Simon Khaya Moyo in his response to Nelson Chamisa’s State Of The Nation Address.

SK Moyo in his strong-worded response to Chamisa even threatened the MDC Alliance by stating that the ruling party has the power to thwart the MDC’s alleged plan to destabilised the country but they would leave the task to law enforcement agents.

In response, Chamisa spoke to New Zimbabwe and said his calls are not supposed to unsettle anyone:

The call for unity must never unsettle anyone because great nations thrive on the pillars of unity. United citizens are the fuel which can deal with the problems and challenges bedevilling our great nation.

Zanu PF must not be scared of my clarion call for convergence. I am not beating drums of war. I am just calling for unity. Great nations are built on unity. Zimbabwe does not need a partisanship leadership anymore. Yes, you may be Commander-in-Chief constitutionally, but the country now needs a Father-in-Chief.

Honestly claims that the economy is on a rebound and even declaring (cash) surpluses cannot hold when every citizen has evidence of a collapsing economy. Recovery is not an expression of letters in a newspaper but a felt experience.

Nelson Chamisa told the government that the MDC Alliance will peacefully protest all forms of oppression in 2021.
