ZEC: The Commission Hasn’t Resumed Electoral Activities

The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) has dismissed as false reports which suggest that the commission resumed electoral activities.
In a statement posted on its social media pages, ZEC said :
Contrary to some reports, the Commission has not resumed any electoral activities. As you may be aware, the current relaxed lockdown measures were announced on 01 March 2021 hence the Commission will deliberate on the appropriate time to resume the electoral activities.
The commission is only conducting preliminary delimitation desk work. Some pilot groundwork was conducted last year when lockdown measures were relaxed.
The Commission last year indicated that by-elections had been suspended indefinitely in compliance with a directive that had been issued by Vice President Constantino Chiwenga who is also the Minister of Health and Child Care.
