PREAMBLE
The relatively cool south-easterly breeze has stabilized much of the atmosphere with the only thunderstorms being over the northern parts of Mashonaland West into Mashonaland Central, where Kanyemba measured 92 mm.
The rest of the country had mostly continuous rain, with substantial falls in places such as Sanyati (66 mm), Kwekwe (55 mm), Chakari (39 mm), Mukandi (38 mm), Chinhoyi (35 mm) and Gokwe (32 mm).

While cloudy, breezy and mild conditions are expected TOMORROW MONDAY 01 MARCH 2021; the first day of the new month begins with light rains which should ease off toward evening.
A few sunny breaks are probable especially over Matabeleland South and Bulawayo Metropolitan Provinces.
IMPACTS
- Flooded rivers remain a potential hazard; even if it has not rained heavily in the area, heavy rains may have occurred upstream.
- The cooling breeze, cloudy and relatively mild conditions may negatively impact vulnerable persons (e.g. the very young, elderly or ill) as well as poultry.
- Respiratory illnesses are common when temperatures fluctuate considerably.
- Day-time temperatures are expected to steadily rise as the week progresses.
ACTIONS TO TAKE
- Avoid crossing flooded rivers and swollen streams whether on foot or in a vehicle.
- Keep warm by wearing warm clothes during the late evening and early morning hours.
- Poultry producers should note that broilers are sensitive to temperature variations and therefore need to be checked regularly and adjustment made.
- Consult local certified-health practitioners for better advice on respiratory problems (e.g. dry coughs, colds, influenza, or asthma).
- Farmer with crops that still need significant amounts of water should plan with irrigation in mind.
