MDC-A Defector, Lilian Timveous Made A Pact With Auxillia Mnangagwa

Former MDC Alliance (MDC-A) Senator Lilian Timveous made a pact with First Lady Auxillia Mnangagwa to ensure that she retained the vehicle she received from Parliament before she dumped the opposition party and defected to the ruling ZANU PF party.

This was revealed by MDC Alliance secretary-general Chalton Hwende on Tuesday, a few hours after Timveous and another former party official, Blessing Chebundo, were paraded at State House by President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

President Mnangagwa’s spokesperson, George Charamba said the two said “they found it futile to continue with negative opposition for the sake of opposition instead of joining hands with the rest of the country to support Vision 2030.”

In a statement posted on his social media accounts, Hwende said Timveous tendered her resignation from the party three weeks ago in order to retain the vehicle. Said Hwende:

3 weeks ago we received a resignation letter from Ms Timveous which we accepted. Her major reason was that Mai Mnangagwa had promised to help her retain the vehicle she received when she was a Senator.

Mr Chebundo has joined Zanupf from the Mwonzora Group. Political Party Membership is voluntary, we would like to thank them for the time we worked with them.

Meanwhile, freelance journalist Hopewell Chin’ono said he warned MDC Alliance leader Nelson Chamisa about Timveous’s “shallowness” two years ago. Chin’ono said in a Facebook post:

Two years ago MDCA leader Nelson Chamisa and his friend Advocate Thabani Mpofu passed through my home when they were in my hood. I warned Nelson Chamisa about the crowd that bootlicked him.

I gave Lillian Timveous as an example of people with NO ideas, but who relied entirely on publicly bootlicking the leader to stay in favour and onside.

Today Lillian Timveous joined ZANUPF! Today I warn my brother-friend again, don’t allow bootlicking as Mugabe did!

Those who publicly bootlick you are the most dangerous and treacherous ones, as I warned Tsvangirai about James Maridadi 10 years ago!

When politicians have no ideas, their only currency to stay close to the leader becomes bootlicking!

She belongs to the crowd that attacked me each time I would publicly and constructively critique the MDCA! I hope Citizens are also learning!!!

Nations are not built through blind loyalty and bootlicking but through constructive engagement!

Lillian has been joined by Blessing Chebundo in going to ZANUPF!
