Minister Warns Against Selling Of COVID-19 Vaccines

Matabeleland North Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Honourable Richard Moyo has warned against the selling of COVID-19 vaccines saying it is for free.

Minister Richard Moyo spoke as Zimbabwe has embarked on a nationwide vaccination campaign in a bid to weather the coronavirus curve.

Speaking as Matebeleland North received its share of the COVID-19 doses, Minister Richard Moyo warned against the selling of COVID-19 vaccines adding that vaccination is voluntary. He said:

Anybody willing can come forward and be vaccinated. The vaccine is not for sale and whoever tries to do that police will be on the alert.

Meanwhile, the Acting Provincial Medical Director for Matabeleland North, Dr Munekayi Padingani told ZBC this Tuesday, that having received the vaccine, the next stage will be to distribute it across all districts.

Padingani added that they will have finished distributing the vaccine across the province by this Sunday.

Zimbabwe launched its vaccination programme in Harare this Thursday at Wilkins Infectious Diseases Hospital where Vice President Constantino Chiwenga who doubles as the minister of Health and Child Care volunteered to be the first person to be vaccinated.
