ZETDC MD Granted $30K Bail In US$1.4M Tender Case

Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company (ZETDC) managing director Lovemore Chinaka was granted bail when he appeared before the courts for flouting tender procedures.

Lovemore Chinaka who was being represented by his lawyer, Oliver Marwa, was being accused of violating tender procedures involving US$1 405 920.

He was not asked to plead to the charges of criminal abuse of duty as a public officer when he appeared before Harare regional magistrate Mrs Esthere Chivasa who freed him on a $30 000 bail.

Magistrate Chivasa also ordered Chinaka to report to Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission once a fortnight.
