India Pledges To Donate 75 000 Coronavirus Vaccines

The Republic of India has pledged to donate 75 000 coronavirus vaccines to Zimbabwe, with the South Asian giant granting Harare the opportunity to buy more.

In a post on his social media channels this Friday, President Mnangagwa said his government is working hard to procure more vaccines. He wrote:

We are grateful to our Indian friends for committing to donate 75 000 Covid 19 vaccines and for the opportunity to buy more moving forward.

We are working tirelessly to obtain sufficient vaccines so we can overcome this virus and revive our economy.

India’s pledge to donate vaccines to Harare comes a few days after the country took delivery of 200 000 Sinopharm jabs from the People’s Republic of China.
