Hippo Kills Gwanda Man

A stray Hippo attacked and killed a 37-year-old man from Lushongwe Village in Gwanda district yesterday, the Chronicle reports.

The hippo, which is suspected to be one of the hippos that are staying at the Garanyemba Dam attacked the now deceased Nicholas Ndlovu at around 9 PM as he was walking towards a nearby mine where he worked.

After he was attacked he was taken to Gwanda hospital where he was reportedly pronounced dead on arrival.

Meanwhile, residents and villagers of Beitbridge are being terrorized by elephants that are destroying their crops and threatening to wipe out their bumper harvest while in other parts of Beitbridge lions are killing villagers’ livestock.
