ZRP Seize 144 Broncleer Bottles And Dagga Destined For Vic Falls

ZRP yesterday (Friday) intercepted a Victoria Falls bound truck and discovered 144 bottles of broncleer and marijuana in Bulawayo, CITE reports.

Bloncleer referred to as bronco in the streets is a cough syrup that is banned in Zimbabwe because of its alcohol content but very popular with drug users in Zimbabwe.

The incident was confirmed by Bulawayo ZRP Spokesperson Inspector Abednico Ncube who said they arrested a 31-year-old man Mthokozisi Lenje, who is employed as a switchboard operator at Mpilo Hospital for possession with intent to distribute illicit drugs:

He will appear in court soon, however, he is currently assisting police with investigations to establish the source of the 144 bottles and the mbanje and even the market.

Inspector Ncube praised the traffic officers for the job they are doing in trying to ensure that motorists don’t walk away after committing crime in his jurisdiction.

Last year a truck ferrying Broncleer was seized by ZIMRA in Bulawayo before unidentified men broke into the ZIMRA warehouse and took the truck and disappeared.
