Records Broken: Manchester City Beat Liverpool At Anfield
Manchester City won 4-1 against reigning Premier League champions, Liverpool, on Sunday, their first time to do so at Anfield since 17 years ago.
With the victory, Manchester City also equalled the all-time winning run by an English top-flight side across all competitions, winning each of their last 14 matches, the same number as Preston (ending in 1892) and Arsenal (ending in 1987).
Meanwhile, Liverpool are the first side to lose three straight home league matches in the following campaign after winning the English top-flight since Chelsea did so almost 65 years ago back in March 1956.
After 23 games this season, Liverpool (40) now have 27 fewer points than they did at the same stage last season (67), the biggest drop by any reigning champion at this stage of a campaign in English top-flight history.
Manchester City are now 10 points clear of fourth-placed Liverpool, who have just suffered their joint-heaviest Premier League defeat.
Salah’s penalty cancelled out Gundogan’s opener, but two Alisson errors and a stunner from Foden sealed Liverpool’s fate and some even believe the Reds’ title hopes are now dead.
Manchester City got goals from İlkay Gündoğan 49′, 73′, Raheem Sterling 76′ and Phil Foden 83′.

John Stones connected with Foden’s wonderful cross and put it at the back of the net but after a VAR check, the goal was dismissed for an offiside.
