Student Activist Allan Moyo’s Bail Application Dismissed

High Court Judge Justice Foroma today dismissed the bail application of a Univerity of Zimbabwe student activist Allan Moyo who was arrested for alleging that President Emmerson Mnangagwa was ruining people’s lives.

The update that Moyo who has been in jail since 7 December will remain in custody was shared by Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights ZLHR which said:

JUST IN: Pro-democracy campaigner Allan Moyo, who has spent more than 50 days in detention, will continue detained in prison after Justice Foroma dismissed his bail appeal.

Moyo was arrested on 7 December for alleging that President Mnangagwa is destroying people’s future.

It is still not clear why Moyo’s bail application was dismissed by Justice Foroma. Meanwhile MDC Alliance Vice-Chair Job Sikhala is also in remand since 9 January after Justice Chitapi reserved ruling in the bail application till Monday next week.  Sikhala was arrested for tweeting falsehoods according to ZRP.
