Mutare Woman Jailed For Killing Her Baby After Giving Birth In A Bucket With Hot Water
A Mutare woman was slapped with a 2-year jail sentence for killing her baby after she gave birth in a bucket of hot water instantly killing the infant, ZBC News reports.
According to the publication, 20-year-old Queen Makombe reportedly gave birth in a bucket of hot water and killed her infant before disposing of the body of the infant in a nearby stream.
Neighbors suspected that Makombe might have done something to her infant when they saw her not pregnant and alerted the police. ZRP made some investigations which led to the arrest of Makombe who confessed to her crime.
Makombe will however serve 490 hours of community service after the court suspended her jail term on the condition that she will not commit a similar offense in 5 years.
