Zimbabwe Gets COVID-19 Vaccine Offers From China And Russia - Report

China and Russia have reportedly approached Zimbabwe in a bid to supply the Southern African African nation with COVID-19 vaccines as Zimbabwe scrambles to contain the virus which has killed close to 1000 Zimbabweans since 23 March 2020, Business Recorder reports.

This was reportedly revealed by a Director in the Ministry of Health Dr. Portia Manangazira who on Monday told a parliamentary portfolio committee on health that:

They have near pre-qualified vaccines and those are going to be for sale…they might offer a small donation.

Zimbabwe is relying on the COVAX scheme to be rolled out next month to vaccinate its population. Dr. Mudyirandima has said MPs, frontline workers, ministers, and members of the security forces will be vaccinated first ahead of everyone else including vulnerable groups.
