ZESA Warns Of Possible Load Shedding

ZESA Holdings says there is a possibility of load shedding during the evening peak hours, that is between 4 PM and 7 PM, due at technical fault at Hwange Power Station.

In a public notice this Thursday, ZESA said the technical fault at the thermal power station will result in the loss of about 200MW. The statement read:

ZESA Holdings would like to advise its valued customers countrywide that there is limited power supply in the national grid due to a technical fault at Hwange Power Station.

The technical fault will result in load curtailment of about 200MW during the evening peak period of 1600hrs to 1900hrs.

Restoration of service to optimum levels is currently underway and customers are advised to use the available power sparingly.

Customers will be updated as the situation improves.

The inconvenience caused is sincerely regretted.

  1. It is good that they are giving us times. It is also a terrible pity that they dont do this all of the time if they are planning cuts.
