Bulawayo Records 8 COVID-19 Deaths In 24 Hours
Bulawayo Metropolitan Province yesterday recorded the highest number of COVID-19 deaths. According to the Ministry of Health and Childcare update released yesterday, 8 people died in the country’s largest city due to the Wuhan Virus.
The Ministry gave the following statistics about the 17 people who died from COVID-19 yesterday and said:
- Bulawayo – 8
- Mashonaland East – 4
- Midlands – 3
- Mashonaland Central – 1
- Manicaland – 1
However, Harare recorded the highest number of recoveries yesterday after 165 people recovered from COVID-19. Matabeleland South recorded the second-highest number of recoveries after 102 people recovered from COVID-19 while no recoveries were recorded in Matabeleland North, Mashonaland East, and Mashonaland West.
The Ministry stated that 0 PCR testes were done in Matabeleland South and Mashonaland Central but 48 and 35 people tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday according to the statistics given by the ministry.
Harare and Midlands recorded the highest number of positive cases, recording 274 and 160 cases respectively.
