Zimbabwe COVID-19 Death Toll Rise To 551

Zimbabwe on 12 January 2021 recorded 23 COVID-19 deaths to push the death toll, since March last year when the first fatality was recorded, to 551.

This was revealed in a statement issued by the Ministry of Health and Child Care which indicated that the 23 deaths are part of 942 new coronavirus cases the country recorded in the past 24 hours.

Harare had the highest number of new cases – 401, followed by Manicaland with 155 cases.

The statement also revealed that Bulawayo and Manicaland had the highest numbers of deaths as indicated below.

  • Bulawayo – 7
  • Manicaland – 7
  • Mashonaland Central – 5
  • Harare – 2
  • Masvingo – 2

Meanwhile, the total number of officially known coronavirus cases has risen to 23 239 while recovered cases rose to 13396.
